Meet the founder of Alna Design and learn about the free courses approach

Hi Myriam, can you introduce yourself?

My name is Myriam Markiewicz. I’m a French interior designer, and I’ve just created Alna Design – an online school for interior design and interior decoration that offers free courses.

Are you qualified to offer such a program?

Absolutely! I created my first school in France in 2007. I personally created all the courses except for the drawing and planning software courses. In 2011, I obtained the first residential interior decoration and interior design certification for adults in professional retraining. Why did you create Alna Design?

Simply because I sold my interior decoration and interior design school to an investment fund in July 2023, and I decided to embark on one last big project: to allow everyone to study the fundamentals of interior decoration and space design for free!

Why not charge for these courses?

Today, with the internet and especially since the arrival of AI, everyone can access increasingly comprehensive free information. I think this is the future, and information should no longer be paid for!

However, this information is not or barely controlled, and it takes an enormous amount of time to train oneself in specific skills by searching alone. With Alna Design, you have free access to the fundamentals of interior design and interior decoration, gathered in the form of real courses designed by an expert in interior design and education with over 18 years of experience.

Will the courses always be free?

Yes, the courses on the fundamentals of interior design and interior decoration will always be free, and I hope they will spread worldwide. I simply ask you to occasionally answer a questionnaire to help me improve them, to make them known around you, and to follow our Instagram account as soon as it’s ready (we’re going to change the current account).

What’s your goal today?

My knowledge is free, and I offer it to you forever. I am currently working on an additional certification training. It will be ready very soon. The certification will be recognized at a European level 5. It corresponds to an Associate Degree in the USA.

My goal:

• To make Alna Design a worldwide platform for accessible learning in interior design and home decoration.
• To pioneer affordable, high-quality career training
• To be joined by many other professionals in this beautiful adventure.

Of course, all this will take some time, but the challenge motivates me!
